# Smart ESM pH Probe Calibration Procedure

## To calibrate the pH probe using a certified buffer solution

**Spare parts required:**

> Ph Calibration Fluid 4.01 Ph                 **(**Part Number  112459)
> 
> Ph Calibration Fluid 10.01 Ph               (Part Number 112460)

Note: The pH solution sachets should be left in the Smart ESM enclosure so that they match the temperature of the pH probe.

> **Procedure:**

Step 1 : Remove pH probe from Smart ESM cell ensuring that the cable that connects the pH probe to the Smart ESM is still connected and the ESM is powered up.

Step 2: Press the pH CAL button on the touchscreen and follow the instructions shown on the screen.

Step 3: Follow the instructions shown on the screen and press the "CALIBRATE" button on the screen.

Step 4: Follow the instructions shown on the screen and open the 4.01 pH buffer solution  
And insert the probe into the solution and press the NEXT button on the screen

Step 5:Follow the instructions shown on the screen and open the10.01 pH buffer solution  
And insert the probe into the solution and press the NEXT button on the screen

Step 6: The screen will indicate that the pH probe is now calibrated and also show the expiry date of the probe’s calibration.

Step 7: The calibration certificate 112512 should be completed and left with the Smart ESM monitor.
