This guide will walk you through replacement of the paddle wheel fitted to your 490 Flow meter.
- Measure the gap between the two faces and record.
- Remove the three nuts and spring washers from the top of the securing studs.
- Gently pull the two sections apart.
- Locate the sprung locking pin on the outer tube.
- You will now need to gently press the locking pin in whilst pulling the rotor mounts out of the end of the tube. (Assistance may be required to do all of this at once). I found that a loop of wire passed either side of the spindle gave me good purchase on the inner parts without the risk of damage. This will give access to the spindle.
- Once you have access to the spindle, you can push it out from either side to free the rotor.
Please reassemble in the reverse order taking special care not to damage the new rotor. These are delicate. Ensure that the gap between the two flanges are set to the same distance as recorded at the beginning.
